An Introduction to M42: Indonesian 4,200 kc GAR FOB futures on SGX

SGX (Singapore Exchange) launched Indonesian 4,200 GAR 'M42' Coal Futures on 9 April, which uses the IHS McCloskey Indonesia (4,200 kc GAR) FOB marker as its basis.

With the contract now actively trading, we cordially invite you to a session aimed at helping you better understand the index against a background of falling prices in the global market and regulatory change in Indonesia.

Join members of the IHS McCloskey (MCC) team responsible for providing the index, as well as, staff from Singapore Exchange (SGX) to learn about the new futures contract, how it is formulated and how it can help you manage your risks associated with Indonesian coal. We will also be joined by independent commodities consultant and managing director of Sierra Vista Resources, Pat Markey.

Discussion will focus around the following topics:

• The choice of a robust underlying index
• Historical MCC Indo 4,200GAR index performance
• Price correlation with other grades of Indonesian coal
